Linux (debian/ubuntu) installation tips:

Add new limits to the file /etc/security/limits.conf

#<domain>      <type>  <item>         <value>
#
web             hard    nofile          8192
web             soft    nofile          8192

If your install procedure hangs at 31%, please follow:
dash link is needed to be removed during installation, in its place we should point sh to bash:

ocm@achtung:/bin$ ls -ltrah *sh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  82K 2010-11-15 09:32 dash
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 804K 2011-03-31 21:26 bash
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  82K 2011-07-07 11:54 OFFsh   
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root    4 2011-07-07 12:28 sh -> bash

When installed, rollback theese settings to defaults:

sudo ln -s dash sh
ocm@achtung:/bin$ ls -ltrah *sh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  82K 2010-11-15 09:32 dash
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 804K 2011-03-31 21:26 bash
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root  82K 2011-07-07 11:54 sh

Stop Servers:

web@achtung:/media/export/web/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer1$ bin/stopServer.sh server1

ADMU4000I: Server server1 stop completed.
